The Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar presented the 4th National Water Awards, 2022 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on 17 June 2023. The award winners were selected on various parameters by the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.
A total of 41 winners, including joint winners, have been selected for the 4th National Water Awards, 2022, covering 11 categories. The recipients in each category will be awarded citations, trophies and cash prizes. The cash prizes for the first, second and third place winners are Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh respectively.
Award Categories
- The first prize for the best state will be awarded to the state of Madhya Pradesh
- Best district award will be given to Ganjam district of Odisha
- Jagannadhapuram Gram Panchayat of Bhadradri Kothagudem district in Telangana will be awarded the Best Gram Panchayat.
- Best Urban Local Body Award to be given to Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh
- Best media award will be given to Advance Water Digest Private Limited Gurugram, Haryana
- Jamiatpura Primary School, Mehsana, Gujarat will be awarded the best school
- Best Institute for campus use to be awarded to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Reasi, J&K
- Best Industry Award for Barauni Thermal Power Station, Begusarai, Bihar
- Best Self Help Group (NGO) award will go to Arpan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur, Rajasthan
- Best Water User Association award will be given to Sanjivani Piyat Sahakari Mandali Ltd., Narmada, Gujarat
- Best Industry Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities will be presented to Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL) Technologies Limited, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The National Water Awards, as part of the ongoing nationwide campaign to realize the government's vision of 'Jal Samriddh Bharat' or 'Water Prosperous India', focuses on encouraging good works and efforts made by various individuals and organizations Let's concentrate. It seeks to create awareness among people about the importance of water and motivate them to adopt best water use practices.
